Hello Shareholders and friends,Very busy spring planting week on the farm! Soil temp has risen dramatically, everything is exploding with growth! Sweet corn and potatoes are up, leeks and onions are rooting well, and fall garlic looks great. Greenhouse production is winding down, but carrots are coming on. We will have the first new spring carrots on Saturday. Hand planting is in full steam ahead: 12 news herbs are in and irrigated, outside we planted kale, chard, lettuce, spinach, arugula, radish, cucumbers, carrots, beets, parsnips, kohlrabi, green and yellow beans, Sugar snap peas. we planted zucchini, summer squash, watermelons, cantaloupe, winter squash, and okra. I delivered to Yankton and I delivered to Sioux City, Beresford, and Sioux Falls. our honey bees came in “to happy hunting…” we now have 50 hives! For pickup we will have: some lettuce, herbs, sweet spring baby carrots and lots of asparagus. We will also have chickens, eggs, and maple syrup.
