July frost in the hills is one thing, but less than 50 degrees on July 15th is amazing for Vermillion! What nice weather for outside work. We got lots done today. We cultivated, tilled, mowed, planted and irrigated today. I saw and ate 2 red cherry tomatoes yesterday. Tomorrow we will plant 700 broccoli plants for September harvest. It looks like we will have a real nice crop of melons and winter squash (acorn and butternut). We are irrigating those tonight! Today we got 70 more peppers planted. For Saturday we will have a nice pick of green beans, some lettuce, chard, lots of new red potatoes and herbs. Maybe some onions and garlic if the old potato digger works.
We are looking for more help if you have any spare time.
