Good evening from the Heikes Family Farm, December is off to a pleasant warm start, we are happy about that. The farm is now quiet for the winter. We harvested the last little bit of greens left from the greenhouse, and we still have some potatoes left in the field. This week Heidi and I attended an intern “lean management “class presentation at the USD business school… about our CSA. Interesting suggestions. We will continue to re work our CSA’s farm plan, with help from the business school into 2015. Richard and I will also start marketing Non GMO “Heikes Farm Field seed” to Hutterite colonies farming/livestock operations. We will continue handling all natural Hutterite chickens, turkeys, ducks, and eggs for our shareholders in 2015. We hope to have some Minnesota wild rice soon. We still have a little honey left from our 2014 crop. We also just got an iPad mini for our CSA business. We will work with the B-school technology department for some custom apps for leaner management of our farm CSA business. Our 2015 goal is a profitable, sustainable, Community Supported Agriculture family farm. We believe we can grow to 150 family shareholders in 2015 with your support and help. No doubt your personal testimonies are our best advertising for growth. If you have not completed your CSA survey yet, please do so soon…. Your comments and continued support is valuable to our farms future, hope to hear from you soon,
Season’s greetings,
Sincerely, Sam and Heidi
