This searing heat is taking a big toll on crop/food production over a very large area! I went to Pierre for the 4th and saw a lot of dry land crops from here to Pierre that are in serious stress problems, as is our fresh garden produce! We are hand watering our vegetables daily trying to maintain production! This week we still have eggplants, herbs, kale, potatoes, onions, beets, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, radishes’, arugula, broccoli, Swiss chard, and some sweet corn if we can keep those damn raccoons out!...they found the 1st ripe corn, and they liked what they ate… “Sweet Heikes Family Farm Ambrosia Corn. “
See you Saturday, Sincerely, Sam and Family
